THE CAST
EDIE ADAMS
Edie Adams, television star, singer, comedienne, mimic, and motion picture star, plays Trina, the wife and then the happy ex-wife of Barney Yale (Ernest Borgnine) in “The Oscar.” Trina is pert, pretty, sharp, a film extra with her antennae out for the big chance, and a match for both Frankie Fane and Barney.
Miss Adams, a glamorous and talented whirlwind, will have within the past three years completed eight motion pictures. She came to “The Oscar,” having just completed “Made In Paris” at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer with Ann-Margaret and Louis Jourdan, and following “The Oscar,” departed for Rome to star opposite Rex Harrison in “Tale of the Fox.” Films just preceding this trio are “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” “The Best Man,” “Love With The Proper Stranger,” “Under the Yum Yum Tree,” and “Call Me Bwana.”
While at work in “The Oscar,” Miss Adams was also starring in “Can Can” at the Melodyland Theatre and commuted by helicopter between the stage and screen assignments.
